The markers arrived in very simple packaging, just sealed in a plastic bag. Within the bag were three sets of clear plastic dispensing sheets, each plastic backer was of a stiff plastic that was 0.011 inch thick and was 1.975 inches wide and 5.9 inches long. (I'm a bit of a pack-rat, so I'm thinking that after I finish a sheet that I want to keep a few of these backer sheets to repurpose for other needs - such as an aid for removing silicon-cup vacuum wall hooks.) Adhered to each dispensing sheet were a line of 10 stacks (one per color) of 20 self-adhering page markers that are 0.002 inch thick, by 0.4 inch long, 0.177 inch wide. In total you get 60 markers of each color, all the same size. The colors are those shown on the item description page.While you can easily write on these labels, as other reviewers have noted, because the material has very little ability to absorb ink, any ink writing you do will easily smear until the ink has literally dried. On paper, ink is normally easily absorbed into the paper material, and almost immediately becomes smear-proof - not so with this page flag material. Interestingly, a high-solvent pen like a sharpie will dry faster than most ball-point pens - write with a sharpie, blow on it for a second to dry it, and you are good to go. However a ball-point pen may require 10-30 seconds, or more, before they dry enough to not smear.Pencils also write well on these labels, and don't have the drying time issue of many pens.With each at 2 thousandths of an inch thick (about the thickness of the diameter of a human hair), these markers are thin enough - even when used in numbers throughout a printed volume - to cause minimal disruption to most books. Bibles will tend to be the most sensitive to accumulated page markers because their paper thickness is often very thin, so it makes sense to stagger the location on the edge of the page if you think you will use very many within a single book.The adhesive covers about half of the reverse side of the marker and is so thin that it has little impact on the total height of a stack of markers. The markers will release from what you put them on without damaging the underlying surface, and without leaving residual adhesive behind.Overall, a great set of page flag markers. If you think you will use a specific color more than others, you may want to add a large set of single colored page markers in your favorite color to supplement this assorted color set.
