    Für die Beleuchtung unseres Hauseingangs, war ich auf der Suche nach einer Leuchte, die farblich und stilistisch zur Eingangstür passt. Ich bin bei Steinel fündig geworden.Die Leuchten fügen sich optisch hervorragend ins Gesamtbild ein. Die Montage war einfach und der Bewegungs- und Dämmerungssensor funktionieren tadellos.

    Nach einem kurzen Ausflug zu einem Chinesischen Produkt (ging zurück mangels Funktion), kam die Lampe von Steinel zum Einsatz. Die lagen am Ende preislich gar nicht so weit auseinander. Besonders gefällt mir neben der Zuverlässigkeit und der VDE Konformität, dass für die Montage 3 Abstandshalter für die Schraubendurchführung beiliegen. Damit kann man die Zuleitung wunderbar unter der Lampe zur Einführung legen. Die Verarbeitung ist gut. Ich würde das Produkt wieder kaufen.

    Eine sehr gute Außenleuchte. Der Bewegungsmelder ist sensibel und toll einstellbar. Mir gefällt, dass man das Gehäuse öffnen kann und die Birne im Bedarfsfalle wechseln kann

    Die Steinel-Außenleuchte sieht sehr hochwertig aus und macht einen tollen Eindruck. Die Helligkeit ist genau richtig und sorgt für eine gute Ausleuchtung. Besonders positiv ist der Sensor, der zuverlässig und einwandfrei funktioniert. Ich bin sehr zufrieden und kann die Leuchte klar weiterempfehlen.

    Die Lampe funktioniert und war einfach zu montieren. Leider ist sie komplett aus Kunststoff, was man ihr auch ansieht. Auf den Bildern sah sie hochwertiger aus.

    Schnell zu montieren und gut beschrieben. Größter Vorteil: es lässt sich ein E27-LED-Leuchtkörper einsetzen. Wenn der mal i.A. ist (nein, keine LED hält 20000 Std.), kann man den auswechseln und braucht nicht die ganze Lampe in die Tonne treten.Der Bewegungsmelder funktioniert einwandfrei und lässt sich in der Reichweite sehr gut einstellen. Den breiten Erfassungswinkel kann man verkleinern, in dem man mit den beigelegten Klebestreifen das "Auge" entsprechend abklebt.

    Stylish outdoor wall light with motion sensor

    It’s a well-made high quality outdoor wall light. The design is appealing, beautiful addition to my home. The material used for this lamp is heavy duty, the combination of white plastic and the grey aluminium side panels will handle most weather conditions Has a clean and minimalist look but also modern too, looks great on our new build house but would also look great on a contemporary house.Featured with an E27 socket so it’s absolutely your choice if you want to use a traditional or a LED bulb in it, however in my opinion LED bulb is a better choice for two reasons. First of all, will consume less electricity, and secondly a regular bulb will generate some heat, and this can cause the white plastic housing to discolour (get yellowish) or even worst, to cause damage to it. The built-in motion sensor will also help you to save on electricity as it will only turn on when somebody walk close to the place you’ve mounted the lamp. Mounting is simple, comes with all the screws and wall-plugs, all you need is a drill and a bit of a skill to hardwire to the main 240V. The motion sensor can be set to your own preferences, by setting the time the lamp should be on after detects a movement (from 8sec up to 35min) and also the level of the darkness when this lamp should be switched on. One of the coolest things is that the direction where the sensor is pointing can be set vertically. The detection angle is about 180° and the detection range of up to 10m according to the manual however I would say 6-8m is more realistically. It has a IP44 rate, which means this outdoor light can withstand rain and is absolutely safe to use outdoors, however, should not be exposed to pressurised water such as a jet wash. Splashing water against the enclosure from any direction will not have a harmful effect on it.

    Steinel are a well known german brand that make quality heavy duty light fittings but it comes at a premium price. At £73 this is no cheap light. Saying that if you are looking for a premium modern antracyte look you cant go wrong with this light.It is an IP44 rated light, has an E27 bulb fitting (unfortunately no bulb included), with a infrared sensor that covers 180 degrees and has a timer function to allow you to decide how long you want the light to be on once triggered.It was extremely easy to fit, is well made and has a solid construction. The antracyte aluminium panels look really high quality.The light functions well, looks great on the wall and I really have no complaints. If you want a premium looking well made external light, you cant go wrong with Steinel (as long as you're prepared to pay for it!!)

    Wanted to like this so much - it's beautifully made (German engineering, but made in Romania).But the side panels are metal - makes it strong, but of course, little light escapes from the sides. Also, the base has little space for light to filter through. So the illumination is mainly forwards and up.The bulb faces upwards, again enhancing the up/forwards lighting rather than down lighting.This doesn't matter if you are using it to illuminate an area from a distance, hence four stars.In our case, we are replacing a non-motion sensitive (i.e. manual) light immediately above our front door. So we want light to illuminate us when trying to find the keys for the door, and for visitors so can see who's there. As it is, it nicely illuminates our neighbours (about 3m opposite) which is useful for them but not for us. Maybe we should ask them to get similar...It's good that it uses an E27 mount (Edison 27mm screw) which means a variety of bulbs can be used. It's limited to 15W, which means LED of course (equivalent to 100W incandescent, i.e. very bright) - and you can choose whether to use a blue-white or warm-white colour.Fitting is simplicity itself, especially if replacing an existing lamp (where mains is ready to use). It's double insulated, i.e. live and neutral only.There are controls under the motion sensor for length of light on (from seconds to half an hour) and sensitivity. The sensor itself can be moved about 90 degrees, from vertical (down) to horizontal.All in all, a very nice unit. For our use (Victorian cottages) I would have preferred more side and down light. If that's not an issue then this light is highly recommended.
