Felt cooling and soothing on the skin.
This is a rich cream and a little goes a long way. There's a distinctive but not overpowering scent of lavender and it felt cool on my skin. The amount shown here was more than plenty for the back of my hand and my forearm - it rubbed in easily and quickly with no sticky or shiny residue. My skin felt smooth and soft afterwards and smelled very lightly of lavender so it's not at all intrusive.I don't know if my skin is detoxified or rebalanced (as claimed on the packaging) but it did feel nice, and I do feel that with repeated and consistent use my skin would feel softer and be less tired looking - I'm in my 60s and these are big issues for me.The packaging and the listing makes all the important claims - Vegan friendly, cruelty free, recyclable packaging and made in the UK. The packaging is also faintly medical rather than mainstream cosmetic - the over all look is functional, no-nonsense, they seem more interested in putting money into the product rather than the packaging - more content than flash.It's a lovely, rich body moisturiser, and what's really refreshing is the instructions to use twice daily until 'symptoms have subsided' then two or three times PER WEEK to maintain - this is refreshing because most sellers want you to use as much as possible, every day, it feels as though this producer has the users interests at heart rather than just maximising sales. I like that, a lot.At £16.19 for 100ml (as at 28 August 2023) I think this is a reasonable price to pay for what feels like a premium product. Worth a go.
Pleasant to use
I was expecting this moisturiser to be slightly thicker than it was due to it being called an intensive rescue cream. However, it was easy to squeeze out of the tube, and blend into the skin. I have been using on my feet as this is my driest body part. Soaks in well, and my feet did feel soft after a night with this cream and my cotton socks on. I couldn't quite work out the scent but my husband came in asking what the lemon smell was, so I'm guessing citrusy!
Effective, but I prefer the same company’s Intensive Rescue Spray.
Positives:-Vegan friendly, and cruelty free.Effective, and has a pleasant fragrance.Negatives:-Somewhat expensive, at the time of writing this review.Does not absorb into the skin anything like as quickly as the Intensive Rescue Spray.Observations:-Came in an attractive cardboard box, overprinted with relevant information.Conclusion:-I prefer this company’s Intensive Rescue Spray to this Intensive Rescue Cream.The Spray is absorbed into the skin much more quickly, and is completely non-greasy.Whereas skin is completely dry to the touch extremely quickly after the Spray has been applied, it is still sticky for quite a long period afterwards when the Cream has been used.
My skin looks more even toned
This cream has been amazing for me. It's added moisture and helped lock it in a bit too. My skin immediately looked less red which took me by surprise because I haven't really seen my skin like this before. My skin looks fresh and plump after use and it's helped me to heal from after exfoliating with AHAs and BHAs
Really wanted to like it more
I’m currently having an absolutely awful breakout of psoriasis and wanted to find something that I could use to keep comfortable without taking too much medication. The ingredients, hypoallergenic claim and the advert showing before and after filled me with hope but unfortunately it has fallen a bit short.It’s very absorbent and is quite cooling to apply, soaking into dry skin well. However it doesn’t really stay soft if you have super dry or thick skin like mine, or I imagine other similar conditions. You’d need to apply it very regularly to keep it soft and comfortable. It also has an extremely strong smell to it, so I’m not sure when it would be suitable to use it. Going to bed it is very strong so a bit off putting to relax with, but likewise I wouldn’t like to smell of the cream at work.All this being said, it will help dry skin if you do just need a nice moisturiser and is comfortable, but I need something more
