Toller Stiefel mit durchdachten Details
Wandern ist für mich zwar in allzu groben Geländen nicht so meine Disziplin, aber auch auf Feldwegen und nur grob- oder unbefestigten Wegen macht sich gutes Schuhwerk positiv bemerkbar.Gute Wanderschuhe tragen oftmals wohlklingende Namen und sind unfassbar kostenintensiv. Das lohnt sich wirklich nur, wenn man diese auch öfter nutzt, macht sich solch ein Anschaffung auch wirklich "bezahlt". Dann trägt man Schuhe ggf. auch so lange, bis der Schuhmacher abwinkt.Für weniger intensive Nutzung oder kleinere Budgets findet man mit diesen Stiefeln eine brauchbare Alternative. Natürlich kann man nicht von einem Schuh, der nur einen Bruchteil kostet, eine ebenbürtige Qualität erwarten. Dennoch bekommt man einen Halbstiefel mit klarer Zielrichtung und guter Verarbeitung. Zusätzlich gibt es durchdachte Details, die man nicht mehr aufgeben möchte.Die Sohle als zentrales Element besteht aus der heute üblichen mehrlagigen Struktur. Sie ist in sich relativ fest und hält allzu harte Bodenstrukturen vom Fuß fern. Dennoch läuft man nicht auf Beton sondern hat eine gute Dämpfung zur Schonung der Gelenke. Wandern bedeutet ja häufig lange unterwegs zu sein.Das Kunstfasermaterial des Oberschuhs ist als wasserdicht angegeben, das lässt sich von mir derzeit nicht prüfen. Es ist eher trocken in unseren Breiten. Sollte ich hier näheres Wissen, reiche ich die Information ggf. noch nach.Auch hier sind mehrere Lagen strukturell miteinander vernäht und verstrebt. Neben sehr gut reflektierenden Streifen gibt es eine käfigähnliche Außenhaut für viel Stabilität bei weniger Gewicht und begrenztem Wärmeaustausch. Das klappt bei diesem Schuh recht gut und die Füße schwitzen in meinem Fall nicht.Um die Fersenkappe herum gibt es gleich 3 Zugösen, um den Schuh passend am Fuß zu platzieren. Das klappt so auch ohne Bodenkontakt recht gut und lässt den Träger sein Schuhwerk schnell an die richtige Stelle bringen.Die Schnürung durchläuft ein ganzes Set an 6 Metallösen, die im oberen Teil als Haken ausgeführt sind. So kann man den Schuh im Ernstfall schnell und weit genug öffnen und ggf. die letzten Ebenen aussparen.Die Höhe ist vorn und hinten unterschiedlich. Während Knöchel und Übergang zum Schienbein gut geschützt sind, lässt die Rückseite der Achillessehne ausreichend Raum und scheuert nicht. So kann man den Fuß auch für knappere Auftrittsflächen auf die Spitze stellen, ohne eingeschränkt zu sein.Insgesamt bekommt man hier für eine sehr konkurrenzfähigen Preis ein Schuhwerk, das vielleicht in seiner Farbgebung nicht jedem gleich gefällt, das aber wirklich Freude macht. Die Materialauswahl und die Qualität sind überzeugend und die Profilsohle aus gummiartigem Material sorgt für rutscharmes Laufen. Ich bin positiv überrascht.

Im Laufe der letzten Jahre habe ich mir bereits zahlreiche Amazon Essentials-Artikel bestellt und bin bei jedem vom Preis-Leistungsverhältnis positiv angeben. Daher konnte ich auch bei diesen wasserdichten (Herren)-Wanderstiefeln nicht widerstehen, zumal ich diese Art Schuhe bevorzuge, auch im Zuge meiner täglichen Gassigänge in Wald und Feld.Die Amazon Essentials Wanderschuhe sind sehr bequem. Ich habe normal Schuhgröße 41-42, je nach Art und Marke der Schuhe. Bei diesen passt die Größe 42 perfekt, eine 41 wäre sicherlich zu klein und schmal gewesen. Der Raum im Zehenbereich ist großzügig und geben meinem beginnenden Hallux ausreichend Platz. Nichts drückt oder schmerzt. Auch nicht nach einer 2-stündigen Tour. Die Sohle ist stabil, jedoch nicht zu hart und rollt beim gehen gut ab. Auch der Schuh im ganzen ist stabil, wie es bei Wanderschuhen sein soll, geben Fuß und Knöchel ausreichend Halt. Sehr angenehm dabei ist die Aussparung nach unten über dem Fersenbereich, damit der Fuß dort ausreichend Bewegung erhält.Der Wanderschuh wird als wasserdicht angeboten, jedoch kann ich dahingehend am Schuh selber keine Info finden. Bei einem Spaziergang bei Nieselregen blieben meine Füße aber trocken. Zum einen ist der bodennahe Bereich mit einer Art Kunstleder o.ä. umgeben, das kein Wasser durchlässt. Der dahinter liegende Stoff sieht sehr dicht und kleinmaschig aus, der Regen perlte darauf ab. Ob die Schuhe auch in nassem Gras wasserdicht bleiben, kann ich auf Grund fehlender Gelegenheit nicht beurteilen.Auffällig sind die silbernen Reflektoren auf der Schulseite und der Ferse. Sogar bei Tageslicht flackern die häufig auf.Mein einziger Kritikpunkt sind die Schnürbänder. Die Länge ist mehr als ausreichend. Jedoch sind sie rund und recht dick und neigen dazu, sich selbständig zu öffnen. Also besser einen Doppelknoten oder durch andere austauschen.Mittlerweile habe ich die Wanderschuhe an meine 78 jährige Mutter "vererbt". Sie war so begeistert von deren Optik, wollte sie mal probieren und nun sind sie in ihr Eigentum übergegangen...:-) Das überzeugt zusätzlich von der Hochwertigkeit der Schuhe, denn meine Mutter hat altersbedingte Fuß-Probleme und fand die Wanderschuhe fantastisch, ist von Bequemlichkeit und gutem Halt darin begeistert.Ach wenn die Schuhe als Herrenschuhe deklariert sind, so können sie auch sehr gut von Damen getragen werden.
Best bang for your buck
I was a little hesitant at first because of the brand not being an official “hiking/outdoor” brand, but I used these for the first time on a 10 mile hike with slick, snowy, rocky, and mountainous terrain and these boots held up very well. They were very comfortable for the entire trip and my feet did not hurt at all. The ankle support on these also saved my ankles from twisting in multiple occasions. My feet stayed dry the whole time, which was a huge added bonus as well. Very good value for your money, especially if you are a beginner hiker!

These are actually really comfortable and look nice. I have a big wide foot and they fit great. They are fairly sturdy and for the price a great deal.

These boots looked great right out of the box. I picked a size 9, as my regular women’s size is a 10-10.5, and planned to wear thicker socks when using them. The fit was perfect, any bigger and my foot would have slipped too much, and a smaller size would be uncomfortable with swelling.I’m loving the fact that you can step into these boots without bending. They slip on sooo easy, and are also super easy to tie. The lower laces stay secure, and the upper hooks(?) are easy to get the laces around. A very nice surprise for this “older girl”. No yoga required to get them on and off. I’d give them five stars for just that!I love the color combination, and they appear very understated. They look like “old school” high tops. They are also fairly comfortable. The soles are very rigid, and the tread is nice and deep. They feel substantial, but are surprisingly easy to work in.I wanted them for use at my job site, as it gets super muddy when it rains (I work in transportation). Thought they would only be useful in that manner. However, I’ve been wearing them out in the woods near my house, and slogging through my garden bed. I usually wear lower cut garden shoes, but I’m really appreciative of the ankle support these boots provide.I do some semi urban foraging on a neighboring reclaimed property, and any other areas locally (with permission), meaning I face many different types of terrain.It’s been a muddy spring so far, and I’m could not be happier with these boots performance! I’m enjoying feeling secure and steady while foraging and gardening. My socks stay dry, the boots are very breathable, and the laces stayed secure.I mentioned originally being worried about the weight of the boots, as I’m an older female, and the boots were marketed for men. I found their weight manageable, and didn’t feel worn out after trudging through wet grass, mud, loose rocks and over the occasional broken pavement present in the reclaimed area. They are high enough to guard against anything trying to ankles.They still look new, so I’ve been wearing them for 2 hours today to break them in over spring break. I will be wearing them next week to work as well.At this point in time, I’d say that I’m glad I took the chance to try them. These would be an excellent addition for the price, great for semi urban users!! So far they have exceeded my expectation!(Asparagus for scale.)
