Das ist besonders praktisch für längere Abwesenheiten oder tiefere Bewässerung von neu gepflanzten Beeten.Der manuelle Regler ist eine schöne Ergänzung: Man kann jederzeit zusätzlich bewässern, ohne das automatische Programm zu stören. Auch die Regenverzögerung (DELAY) funktioniert einwandfrei und lässt sich mit einem Dreh leicht aktivieren.Besonders gut gefallen mir die massiven Messing-Anschlüsse am Ein- und Auslass. Sie wirken sehr hochwertig, sitzen fest und dichten zuverlässig ab – deutlich robuster als reine Kunststoffversionen. Der Klickanschluss passt perfekt auf den Schlauch und hält bombenfest.Das Gerät fühlt sich insgesamt stabil und wettertauglich an. Auch mit feuchten Händen oder Gartenhandschuhen lassen sich die Regler gut bedienen.Nach diesem ersten Test bin ich schon sehr zufrieden mit der einfachen Handhabung und der soliden Verarbeitung. Es macht genau das, was es soll – und das ohne unnötigen Schnickschnack.

Durable, and easy to use

Yes, yes and yes! This is a handy little gadget and works well in our garden. It's so easy to set up and has no complicated buttons or settings to get confused with, and each setting is clearly labelled in a way that's easy to understand - a child can easily work out which dial does what.The brass fittings are durable, and although it wasn't required, we decided to use a strip of plumber's tape to give it that extra leakage prevention.No more worrying about forgetting to turn of the water, it's great! We'll probably to get more for the other taps in our garden.

This timer makes sense the second you set it up. No menus, no guessing what button does what. Just three dials and you’re done.Setup took a couple of minutes. Screw it onto the tap, connect the hose, put the batteries in, and that’s it. The brass fittings are a big plus, they feel good and solid, and tighten properly. No leaks so far.The dial system is the best part. “How long”, “how often”, and then manual/rain delay. That’s all most people actually need, and it’s way quicker than fiddling with digital timers trying to scroll through settings. You can adjust it on the fly without resetting everything, which I’ve already had to do a few times with the weather changing.Manual mode is useful too. You don’t have to mess up your schedule just to water something extra, just turn the dial and it runs, then goes straight back to the program after. Same with the rain delay, quick to set when the weather turns instead of overwatering everything.The 480 minute max is overkill for me, but it’s good to have if you’re doing deep watering or running a bigger drip system. I’ve been using it with my irrigation setup and it handles it fine, no pressure issues or weird cutoffs.Only thing worth noting, if you’re used to digital timers with exact minute-by-minute control, this is more “set a range and leave it”. Personally I prefer that, less to go wrong, but depends how precise you want to be.Overall it’s simple, reliable, and does exactly what it’s supposed to without turning watering into a whole tech project. Nice bit of kit. Feels chunky and solid, and has brass not plastic fittings. One of the better water controllers I have seen, because it doesn't need a degree in physics to set up. Turn the dials to set how often, and for how long. That's it.Has a bypass function so you can just turn the water in of you need to.Came with suitable hosepipe adapter. Takes a couple of AA batteries - not sure how long these will last, but I'm sure they would be fine for a couple of weeks - and the box suggests an entire year, so.. It does have a battery condition indicator though, so you can easily see. I am using some rechargeable lithium AA batteries to be sure.Comes with a big warning on the side that the thing can stick if left unused for a while, and gives details of how to correct this.I'm not downgrading the review because of this, because it will happen to all of them, and I'd much rather they told me, and told me on the box how to fix it (which they do) than let me find out when I came back from my holidays.. The box is quite informative, and even has a QR code link to a youtube video. I'm not in the habit of clicking random QR codes, but a quick search reveals the videos, and they are very short, but helpful.Note that it does need a minimum water pressure to work properly - it's not happy on a water butt. On a tap, no worries, but without head pressure, it works, but the flow is pretty restricted. They say min is 0.5 bar, or about 8PSI.

This is for you if you only want a Single-Zone timer with simple Analogue controls

RESTMO make a large range of watering timers, from simple Single-Zone Analogue ones (like this one) to complex Multi-Zone, Wifi-enabled / App-Controlled ones - for someone that just wants to water their garden whilst they are away on holiday, this is definitely the one to get - basic, with no digital display or complex electronics to go wrong.With the 2-AA batteries (not supplied!) fitted and the initial calibration out of the way (explained in the instructions), it is simply a matter of setting how long, and how often, you want the water to be on - simples! There is even a manual override to either have the water on immediately (for a time that you set) or, alternatively, to tell the timer to miss a cycle for a day-or-two (ie if it has been raining).For ~£33, this isn't too bad value for money - there are undoubtedly cheaper alternatives, but RESTMO seems to be a quality manufacturer (with generally good reviews across their range in the US), therefore I'm hoping that this timer will outlast a cheaper one.....especially if that prevents a fault occurring when I'm away and causes the water to be on permanently - bad for my garden and water bill!Finally, having had other timers in the past, I've found that connecting to the outside tap via a short length of hose (effectively a 'pig tail') ensures that none of the vibration caused by the water turning on/off affects the threaded portion that would otherwise be immovable on the tap - possibly overly cautious, but these aren't cheap devices!
