Hervorragende Außenleuchte mit tollem Licht und zuverlässigem Sensor
Optisch macht sie an unserer Hauswand richtig was her. Das anthrazitgraue Aluminium wirkt sehr hochwertig und haptisch robust. Man merkt sofort, dass hier auf langlebige Materialien gesetzt wurde. Das schlichte Design ist modern und fügt sich wunderbar in unseren Außenbereich ein.Besonders wichtig war uns eine angenehme Lichtfarbe. Mit ihren 2700 Kelvin strahlt sie ein wunderbar warmweißes Licht aus, das sehr einladend wirkt und abends niemanden blendet. Gleichzeitig ist sie mit ihren 800 Lumen hell genug, um die gesamte Einfahrt sicher auszuleuchten. Mich fasziniert vor allem die beachtliche Energieeffizienz der integrierten LEDs. So haben wir eine hervorragende Ausleuchtung und sparen auf lange Sicht deutlich Strom.Ein absolutes Highlight ist für mich der eingebaute Sensor. Er reagiert extrem zuverlässig und schaltet das Licht genau dann ein, wenn man den Hof betritt. Fehlalarme durch vorbeifahrende Autos oder leichten Wind hatten wir bisher überhaupt keine. Auch kräftige Regenschauer hat die Lampe dank ihrer hohen Wetterfestigkeit vollkommen problemlos überstanden. Die Elektronik im Inneren bleibt komplett trocken und geschützt.Die Montage an der Wand ging ebenfalls zügig und ohne jegliche Komplikationen über die Bühne. Alles in allem bin ich restlos überzeugt von dieser Anschaffung. Wer eine schicke und funktionelle Beleuchtung für draußen sucht, wird hier definitiv nicht enttäuscht.
Sehr gut, recht teuer
Wir dürfen diese Außenlampe im Rahmen eines Vine Produkttests ausprobieren. Wir haben sie zu diesem Zweck kostenlos zur Verfügung gestellt bekommen, was unsere Rezension jedoch nicht beeinflusst.Die Lampe besitzt einen Metallrahmen in dunkelgrau, das Leuchtmittel sitzt hinter einer matten Plastikbehausung. Dadurch ist das Gewicht er Lampe recht gering, was in meinem Fall sehr wichtig war:Unser Haus im Außenbereich wurde in den 60er Jahren gebaut, als wir es vor 10 Jahren komplett umgebaut haben, mussten wir wegen der gesetzlichen Vorschriften zur Bestandserhaltung außen dämmen, daher ist der dünne äußere Putz kaum in der Lage etwas zu halten. Und wenn man hineinbohren möchte bis zum Klinker, braucht man verdammt lange Schrauben.Diese Lampe kann wegen ihres geringen Gewichts gut auf den Putz verschraubt werden.Das Licht ist mit 2700K angenehm warm und gefällt uns sehr! einfach zu installieren, gute Qualität
Die Lampe habe ich bestellt, weil ich für einen Treppenaufgang eine Beleuchtung benötigte.Da ich mit Philips Artikeln bisher immer gute Erfahrungen gemacht habe, fiel meine Wahl auf die Capricorn Außenwandleuchte.Die Leuchte wirkt recht solide und gut für den Außenbereich geeignet. Sie besteht aus anthrazitfarbenem Aluminium und einem weißen, festen Kunststoff und verfügt über die Schutzklasse IP44, womit sie den regulären Bedingungen im Außenbereich standhalten sollte. Als Lebensdauer wird eine Zeit von 50.000 Stunden angegeben, dafür lässt sich das Leuchtmittel dann aber auch nicht tauschen.Mir persönlich war eine gute Funktion des Bewegungsmelders wichtig. Und der funktioniert bei der Lampe sehr gut. Er hat eine gute Reichweite bzw. reagiert früh, so dass es an der Treppe nun immer Licht gibt. Mit 800 Lumen und dem warmweißen Licht, ist es auch im dunklen ein sehr angenehmes Licht, das nicht zu grell oder kalt wirkt.Auch die Installation war einfach. Natürlich muss ein Stromkabel verfügbar sein. Aufgrund des geringen Gewichtes der Lampe, konnte diese auch an unserer gedämmten Fassade mit regulären Dämmstoffdübeln montiert werden.Auch den Preis empfinde ich für das Produkt in der gelieferten Qualität angemessen.

Energiesparend, schönes Design und wetterfest
Das Gehäuse der Philips Capricorn Außenwandleuchte ist aus Metall und macht einen robusten und langlebigen Eindruck. Der weiße Teil und die Rückwand sind aus Kunststoff. Das Design ist unaufdringlich und zeitlos. Für die geringe Leistungsaufnahme von 4,3 W ist sie sehr hell und leuchtet gleichmäßig. Ich dachte zunächst, es gäbe keine Möglichkeit, Helligkeit und Zeit einzustellen, aber diese ist nur clever und gut geschützt versteckt. Am Sensor gibt es eine drehbare Abdeckung dafür. Mir gefällt auch das Detail, dass die beiden Schrauben zur Befestigung der Abdeckung, jeweils noch eine kleine Dichtung haben.Bei einer solchen Außenleuchte ist mir die Langlebigkeit wichtig. Wenn ich schon Löcher in mein Haus dafür bohre, dann möchte ich nicht, dass die Farbe in der Sonne verblasst oder der weiße Kunststoff vergilbt. Wie sich das über die Jahre entwickelt, muss sich noch zeigen, aber bei Philips habe ich das Vertrauen, dass sie in dieser Hinsicht Erfahrung haben. Die speziell entwickelte PowerShield-Beschichtung, welche die Außenleuchte vor Korrosion schütz, klingt jedenfalls vertrauenswürdig.Das Leuchtmittel scheint man nicht wechseln zu können. Das stört mich eigentlich. Dessen Lebensdauer wird mit 50.000 Stunden angegeben. Würde die Leuchte zwei bis drei Stunden am Tag leuchten, dann sollte sie also rund 50 Jahre durchhalten. Da kann man sich nicht beschweren.

Ich habe diese Außenlampe ausgesucht, weil ich einen robusten Ersatz für den Eingangsbereich meines Hauses gesucht habe, das zuverlässig auf Bewegungen reagiert und nicht nach einer Saison den Geist aufgibt.Der erste Eindruck war direkt positiv: Das Aluminiumgehäuse wirkt stabil und deutlich hochwertiger als viele Kunststoffmodelle, die ich vorher ausprobiert habe. Die IP44‑Zertifizierung scheint also nicht nur auf dem Papier zu stehen. Auch die spezielle Beschichtung gegen Korrosion macht einen soliden Eindruck. Zumindest bisher gibt es keine sichtbaren Spuren von Abnutzung.Die integrierte LED soll laut Hersteller sehr langlebig sein. Das kann ich natürlich noch nicht beurteilen, aber es ist praktisch sich nicht ständig um Ersatz kümmern zu müssen. Dass die Lampe insgesamt auf eine lange Nutzungsdauer ausgelegt ist, merkt man an der Verarbeitung.Unterm Strich erfüllt die Leuchte genau das, was ich erwartet habe: Sie sieht schlicht und modern aus, funktioniert zuverlässig und wirkt stabil genug um viele Jahre draußen zu hängen. Keine spektakulären Extras, aber eine solide Außenlampe, die ihren Zweck gut erfüllt.

Compact, bright and classy
I got this Philips wall light to install above my garage. It comes in anthracite grey version, with an aluminium shell, built-in motion sensor and an output of 800 lumens, which is plenty bright enough without being dazzling. Colour temperature is a nice 2700K.Fitting was easy enough. I was replacing and existing fixture so the wiring was already present, just needed a couple of holes drilled and it was installed. The design is fairly compact, it's 21cm diameter, and really quite discreet once in place. It's rated at IP44 so should cope fine with the British weather.The motion sensor works very well. It picks up people reliably (at about 10 metres in my testing). You can adjust the sensitivity and duration. 800 lumens is more than adequate for my needs, it's nicely diffused and so has good even coverage. The warm white light is pleasant and welcoming!The only real downside is that the sensor doesn't turn off during the day, so it does trigger if something moves close by.Overall it's an excellent quality light, the build feels durable and the motion feature makes it practical for driveways or paths. At the current price it seems great value considering the integrated sensor, so if you want something simple, smart and that will last this is a great option.
Not a security floodlight, but decent enough to illuminate your door at night
This was installed at the back of my home, above the door. I have an existing floodlight in the corner, and it's important to mention that this is more of a casual wall-light designed to light up a smaller space, not something I'd use for security purposes. Think of a light you can use when friends/family come to your door, so you can see them easier before letting them inside. I wouldn't use it as a floodlight, because it's simply not powerful enough.It's main's powered, so obviously you'll need to wire it up. I got this installed along with another Philips outdoor light at the same time, and the electrician had no issues with it. Just wire up, install the bracket, screw it in, and you're good to go. I'm sure many people could do this as a DIY job, but personally, I don't mess with electrics, especially outdoors!It looks decent enough on the wall. It's not too big, and again, gives a decent, but not massive amount of light. More than enough for my intended purpose, without blinding visitors.I'd say it's rather expensive for what it is, and for most people, they're probably better off with a cheaper solar-powered unit, which is obviously far less stress to install. But if you need a decent, reliable outdoor light, and like the look of this, then it'll do the job well.
