    Beautiful tone

One word- WOW.This recorder has a very sweet sound to it. I also have a Yamaha Ecodear yrs-402B (and various not so great brand soprano recorders) which although it has high reviews, is slightly shrill for my like, as most plastic recorders seem to be. I've never been big on soprano recorders in general anyway, plastic or wooden, but this Aulos recorder has what I would call an earthy tone and is pleasant. It has a gentle resonance to it, which is perhaps the opposite of shrill, and the only way I know how to explain it - it reverberates slightly lower (resonance) instead of slightly higher (shrillness). The notes respond nicely and it's in tune. Very pleasantly surprised. My son also has an ear for hearing the seemingly minute difference between woodwind sounds, and as soon as he heard it play, he said "oo, mom that sounds really nice".The shipping was a few days faster than originally expressed. It also came in a thin velvety-textured drawstring sack in a golden/mustard color which I wasn't expecting but am happy with. In the sack was the soprano recorder, a cleaning rod, a thumb rest which snaps onto the recorder, and a key sheet. It does not come with cork grease but it arrives very well greased and put together so it would give you a little time to find cork grease or lanolin online and order it for delivery. If anyone is looking for a soprano recorder, I would recommend this Aulos Robin 204A through and through, and thus far it's the only soprano recorder I've ever been willing to recommend. Well done Aulos, I am impressed.

Aulos ci sa' fare - suono forte e preciso

    5/5 · danydaff
