    It matches other accessories such as cookie jar and creamer. I have them on my counter as my color scheme is indigo. Plus it is sturdy and serves its purpose.

    I wanted S&P shakers that would match my new blue butter bell [also bought through Amazon] and a dish I bought last year from TJMaxx that I hadn't yet used. After reading the good reviews, I ordered this set. I'm so pleased that they were handmade. As you can see in the picture[s], the stripes on the pepper are lower than on the salt. That might put some people off, but for me, it reinforces the handmade quality. These are sturdy and hold a lot of S&P, so I won't be refilling often. One reviewer mentioned that a lot of salt comes out, and that is true. But we know that, so we don't shake as vigorously as we might with other sets.But I deducted one star [and would have only deducted half if that were possible], because the product information doesn't say you must use fine salt to get it to come out through the holes. We use Himalayan pink salt for health reasons and found that it wouldn't come out, even though we'd had no difficulty using it in our other salt shakers. I tried adding a few grains of rice, since sea salt has some dampness to it. Still it wouldn't come out. I took our salt granules and put them in a coffee grinder, but it was then like a powder, which was difficult to control when shaking it out. I also discovered upon using a toothpick to unclog the holes from the 'powder' that one of the holes in the salt shaker isn't drilled all the way through......again, that is part of the handmade quality and is fine with me. I found if I just did two quick bursts with the grinder, that I got the right consistency, but what a pain and mess to clean up, along with a waste of a lot of salt. Finally, I ordered an extra fine Himalayan salt with my Subscribe and Save order for April, and I am very pleased that it works great in this shaker! The pepper has always worked great. So we are very very happy with the look, feel and functionality of these beautiful shakers. I hope the seller will let future buyers know that if they use a type of sea salt that they will need to purchase the extra fine version.
