I like AXIS-Y and think they are often overlooked despite making great products. As a person who is not sold on any form of topical PDRN and who was skeptical of a gel toner, I didn't expect to like this as much as I do.To be very clear, the benefits for me isn't so much the ingredients as the texture. I find that 95% of the serums I try are sticky and basically sit on top of my dry, dehydrated skin. For that reason, I often prefer more watery serums like the Purcell ones. However, I was quite shocked that this "gel toner" absorbed into my skin almost instantly and left absolutely zero sticky residue. It is very rare that I experience that with gel-based products, as they are often even worse than standard serums in terms of stickiness and sitting on the skin. But my skin drank this in like it was basically water, so for me at least, this is an excellent formulation. In fact, it was very interesting to me that others found it sticky, because it just isn't for me even if I overapply it (I find the squeeze top tricky). So maybe if you also have issues with standard serums like I do, or even just very dry, dehydrated skin mature skin, you will also love this. Not every product is for every person.It's got zero scent, a fairly clean ingredient list, and you'll get benefits from the other ingredients even if the topical PDRN claims end up being bunk (which is likely, IMO). Since I'm a fan of skin flooding and emphasize hydration above all else in my routine, this is a great middle layer for me after my toners and watery serums like the Dear, Klairs drops. On hot and humid days, this may even be moisturizing enough for me on top of my other hydrating layers that I can skip the moisturizer and go straight to sunscreen.It leaves my skin silky smooth and as a bonus, my eczema absolutely loves it. I apply it to my hands as well as my face and it has been super healing for both. You get also get a ton for the price!The only thing I dislike about it is the packaging. You need to be careful when you squeeze or you will release too much product, and mine arrived leaking because there was no manufacturer safety seal (which really needs to be added).I think if you have dry or dehydrated skin and you prioritize locking in hydration, this could be a wonderful product for you. It is rare that I repurchase anything with a gel consistency, but this was a winner for me and I'll replace it when it runs out.Hope that helps!
AXIS-Y Triple PDRN Gel Toner
I've been using this AXIS-Y Triple PDRN Gel Toner to help with a periodic skin issue that I get. I don't know what caused it, but I would get a patch of dry skin. This time, it was a small area near my right chin. It's baffling because I can't figure out why it happens. I ruled out an adverse reaction to some skincare ingredient because my whole face would have dry patches, if this was the case. By now, I just throw my hands in the air and figure out how to repair my skin whenever this happens.At the first sign of the dry patch, I started using this gel toner in the mornings and at night, right after I wash my face. I give it a good 3-5 minutes because I really want to make sure that the toner penetrates into my skin. This gel is thick, for a toner, so a little goes a long way. I just put a drop that's not bigger than a dime sized onto my hands and then pat and press the gel into my skin. I concentrated on the dry patch to make sure it got a good amount of the gel.Since I'm trying to heal whatever it was that caused my skin issue, I forgo all other ingredients until the issue is resolved. This is all that I use and the dry patch healed in 2 days.Once the skin healed, I use this toner in the mornings only to maintain the hydration and prevent future issues.
