⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️I’m genuinely impressed with this IPL hair removal device. The ice cooling feature really does make a difference — it takes the sting out completely, so it’s much more comfortable than I expected. I’ve used it on legs and underarms and it feels cool and gentle, not scary at all.It’s easy to use at home, the settings are straightforward, and it feels well made. I like that it’s a 3-in-1 device, so you’re not cluttering the cupboard with loads of gadgets. After a few weeks of use, hair growth has definitely slowed down, which is very encouraging.Small note: you do need to be consistent to see results, so it’s not a one-and-done miracle — but that’s true of all IPL devices.Overall, a great at-home option if you want smoother skin without salon prices. Lovely rose gold finish too — feels a bit luxe for a home gadget.
Smooth, painless, and off to a good start
❄️ I was lucky enough to get this through the Amazon Vine programme :)📖 This is a review for the Slikwave Laser Hair Removal device in rose gold. I’ve used a few IPL gadgets before and always end up abandoning them because they’re either too faffy or just feel like a sunburn machine. This one caught my eye because of the “ice cooling” feature, sounded like a marketing ploy, imo, but surprisingly, it actually does help.⚠️ It cools your skin as you use it, so you don’t get that stingy warmth you usually get with IPL. There are two modes, single flashes for smaller areas and an auto mode for bigger ones. It’s easy enough to switch between, though the buttons could be more intuitive. I’ve only done a couple of sessions so far, so no miracles yet, but the reduction seems promising.📦 What came in the boxThe main device, a power cable, protective glasses, and a little instruction booklet. All packed neatly in a sturdy box.What I liked:✅ The cooling plate really does make it painless (still the tiniest bit of discomfort for me though, but I have Suuuper sensitive skin)✅ Feels well-made and looks quite bougie✅ Multiple energy levels so you can ease into it✅ Doesn’t overheat even after longer sessions (so far so good anyway)What I didn’t like:❌ The buttons are a bit fiddly to figure out at first❌ The fan noise is louder than I expected❌ The manual isn’t great, you’ll probably be Googling for clearer guidesThe bottom line:It’s one of the better at-home IPL devices I’ve tried. I stay on level four for shins and forearms, then drop to level two when I venture into bikini territory. No spasms, no yelps, just a quiet buzz and on to the next bit. The device will not fire unless the window sits flush against the skin, so the walls have been spared any accidental light shows.Speed matters when you are balancing on one leg in the bathroom. After a quick shave the evening before, it now takes about ten minutes per leg, five for arms, and I am back to whatever else I am doing. Four weeks in, the difference is obvious. Hair returns only in small, random islands, feels soft instead of prickly and takes far longer to break the surface.The handset itself feels solid, the counter shows a starting figure of 999,900 flashes, and at this pace I will still be zapping stray hairs when the next World Cup arrives. In short, it is the finest grooming purchase I have made this year, and I would recommend it to anyone eager to abandon the endless razor routine.
Smooth skin with zero faff
I finished another gruelling twelve-hour stint on the ward yesterday, trudged home, and more or less collapsed onto the sofa. Ten minutes later I had the rose-gold handset pointed at my underarms, the tiny cooling plate humming away at roughly six degrees, and a cup of over-brewed tea balanced beside me. The chill from that plate is surprisingly pleasant, almost like pressing a cold spoon against a bruised forehead. Each flash feels more like a puff of cool air than a scorch, and after four weeks the stubble that usually turns up uninvited has started to give up the fight.There are three treatment settings, so I can sweep over my legs, take a bit more care around the bikini line, and then chase off the odd rogue hair on my chin, all without swapping attachments. Anything that spares me rummaging through drawers for extra bits automatically wins brownie points.The device itself is compact enough for my admittedly dinky hands, and it weighs less than the stethoscope that has given me permanent shoulder dents. The device looks good and works as described, but the price feels a bit high for what it is. It does cool nicely and the treatment is painless, but for £279 I expected a bit more in terms of performance and build quality. Overall it’s decent, just not really worth the price tag.
