Tolles Spiel aus meiner Kindheit...
A fantastic and interesting game for a group!
We're always looking for new board games, and this one is a classic for a reason. It's a "one vs. all" game where one person plays as the hidden "Mister X," and everyone else (up to 5 others) works together as detectives to catch him.It's so much fun and gets really intense. The detectives have to use logic and teamwork to corner Mister X, while Mister X has to be sneaky and use his special moves (like boat or underground tickets) to escape. It's different every time you play.This is a very good game, super interesting, and a perfect choice if you have a group of people and want something that involves real strategy and teamwork. Highly recommended!

Ich hatte das große Vergnügen, "Scotland Yard" von Ravensburger auszuprobieren, und ich muss sagen, dass dieses Spiel meine Erwartungen bei weitem übertroffen hat! Als großer Fan von Krimis und Detektivgeschichten war ich von Anfang an gespannt auf das Spiel, aber es hat mich regelrecht begeistert.Zu Beginn fällt einem sofort die hochwertige Verarbeitung des Spiels auf. Die detailgetreue Karte von London und die stabilen Spielfiguren vermitteln ein Gefühl von Qualität. Die Anleitung ist gut verständlich und erklärt die Regeln Schritt für Schritt, was den Einstieg sehr einfach macht.Das eigentliche Spielgeschehen ist unglaublich spannend. Die Jagd nach Mister X quer durch die Straßen von London ist ein Nervenkitzel, den man in kaum einem anderen Spiel erleben kann. Die Kombination aus Taxi-, Bus- und Underground-Tickets sorgt für taktische Tiefe und erfordert kluges Planen und Zusammenarbeiten mit den anderen Detektiven.Was mir besonders gefallen hat, ist die Vielseitigkeit des Spiels. Obwohl es ab 8 Jahren empfohlen wird, ist es auch für Erwachsene äußerst unterhaltsam. Die abstrakte Strategie, die man entwickeln muss, um Mister X zu fangen, stellt eine echte Herausforderung dar und hält die Spannung bis zur letzten Minute aufrecht.Ich habe "Scotland Yard" sowohl mit meiner Familie als auch mit Freunden gespielt, und es hat jedes Mal für viel Spaß und Begeisterung gesorgt. Es ist das perfekte Spiel für gemütliche Spieleabende oder gesellige Runden.
Klassiker, der immer noch funktioniert – auch für die neue Generation
Meine Kinder wollten *Scotland Yard* unbedingt haben, weil sie es oft bei Freunden spielen – und ich kenne es selbst noch aus meiner Kindheit. Das Spiel hat nichts von seinem Reiz verloren: Mister X gegen die Detektive, London als Spielfeld und jede Runde spannend wie ein kleiner Krimi.Das Schöne daran: Es funktioniert tatsächlich für Kinder ab 8 Jahren genauso gut wie für Erwachsene. Die Regeln sind einfach genug, um schnell reinzukommen, aber das Spiel bleibt trotzdem spannend und fordert Teamgeist und Köpfchen.✅ Positiv:* Klassiker mit nostalgischem Bonus für Eltern und spannendem Spielspaß für Kinder* Ideal für Familien: verständlich, aber nicht langweilig* Fördert Zusammenarbeit, Planung und logisches Denken* Hochwertiges Spielmaterial, liebevoll gestaltet➖ Neutral:* Erstes Spiel braucht etwas Eingewöhnung – dann läuft’s aber rund* Spielplan ist stilisiert, Ortskenntnis hilft hier nicht weiter❌ Negativ:* Der Preis ist schon eher im oberen Bereich* Nur bis 6 Spieler – bei größeren Familien oder Besuch muss jemand pausierenMein persönliches Fazit:Ein echter Brettspiel-Klassiker, der auch in der heutigen Zeit noch super funktioniert. Zeitloser Klassiker – Begeistert heute wie damals!
Ich habe dieses Spiel für meine Tochter gekauft und es war ein absoluter Volltreffer! Sie liebt es total und kann momentan gar nicht mehr aufhören, damit zu spielen.Das Besondere für uns: Wir Eltern kennen das Spiel natürlich noch aus unserer eigenen Kindheit. Es ist toll zu sehen, dass diese neue Version des Klassikers nichts von ihrem Charme verloren hat. Es macht uns genauso viel Spaß wie früher – ein echtes generationsübergreifendes Erlebnis.Das Design der neuen Version ist gelungen und das Spielprinzip bleibt einfach zeitlos. Eine klare Kaufempfehlung für alle, die ein Spiel suchen, das niemals aus der Mode kommt!

Great game, still lots of fun !
The game is good fun and kept us well entertained. It is also lovely to discuss the different strategies as to how the detectives can find Mr. X with the children and see how their understanding and reasoning changes and improves. The new map of London is really nice and has just the right level of detail (although personally I would appreciate at least a few street names to be printed on it).I fully agree that the new instructions are unnecessarily complicated and have followed the advice (thank-you !) of one of the other reviewers to play by the "good old" instructions as per Wikipedia; those are a bit vague but make sense once all the pieces that come with the game have been looked at - e.g. where it says each player receives 22 tokens, the actual number of individual tokens (taxi 11, bus 8, underground 4) are actually printed on the detective's colour-coded cards. We have tweaked the rules slightly to suit our needs and hence can make the game longer or shorter, according to the patience of the players participating.Even though the game is clearly "German", the instructions do come in 5 other languages including English. As for the game itself it makes no difference as far as we noticed, but I'm happy to stand corrected if someone points out what the difficulty is. The landmarks on the map are referenced by their original names, e.g. "Houses of Parliament" or "The Shard" etc., so I'm not sure what other reviewers were referring to when saying they unfortunately received the "German version". Maybe the instruction manual in their sets was provided only in German; Ours, however, arrived in German, Italian, Dutch, French and English - admittedly, I gave up on reading the instructions as they seem complicated and over-engineered in any language that I can understand.Nevertheless, it's a great fun game that won't become boring as both the detectives on one side as well as Mr. X on the other improve their strategies of pursuit and escape and the game will be different every time it gets played as the starting positions are different. It is well made and seems durable. Hope you enjoy it, we certainly do.
Great game for 2 or more players
Great game. Easy to learn, even for an 8 year old. Playable with 2 players but the more players the more fun.Good quality components, only wish the pieces representing the player would be figurines or have more character than those generic cones.You move through the city by either bus, subway or taxi, each mode allowing you to move 1 or more steps. Players have to work together to catch the "bad" guy. Teaches children critical thinking, planning and cooperation. All in all, a great game for the family.
